Yachana Gourmet is a small
social enterprise that makes delicious, healthy, and minimally processed
chocolate products. Yachana Gourmet uses cacao that is purchased at a fair
trade price from rural cooperatives and family farms in the Amazon
rainforest of Ecuador. The chocolate is grown, carefully prepared and
packaged in Ecuador and then sold in US stores. Local processing and
packaging means that the highest quality product is achieved, and that the
local members of the community are involved from start to finish, adding
value to the product in their country, thereby acquiring processing,
marketing and distribution expertise in addition to a fair price!
